3 Questions to Help Build Reparative Relationships in Trauma-informed Care

In this webinar, participants will be invited to consider the importance of harnessing the powerful reparative potential of staff-youth relationships. The theoretical underpinnings of these “secondary attachment” relationships will be reviewed, as well as the key behaviors associated with building healing relationships. The role confusion many staff report feeling when it comes to relationships with youth, as well as mixed-messaging received from agencies will also be explored. Lastly, this webinar will consider the common assumptions made by many trauma-informed programs regarding the skills of direct care staff, as well as the impact of staffs’ histories of adversity in trauma-informed communities.
